Local Government York, North Yorkshire & East Riding Housing Board

Our governance structure is headed by the Local Government York, North Yorkshire & East Riding Housing Board - representing all of the partner local authorities, Home Builders Federation, Homes and Communities Agency, Health & Well Being and the National Housing Federation. The Board is chaired by Cllr. Richard Foster from Craven District Council. The Board meets quarterly and papers and agendas are usually available seven days before meetings.

York, North Yorkshire & East Riding Chief Housing Officers Group and Technical Groups

The York, North Yorkshire & East Riding Chief Housing Officers Group offers technical support and advice to the Board. The group comprises of housing officers from the local authorities, plus representatives from North Yorkshire County Council, National Parks, Homes and Communities Agency and key local housing associations. The Chair is Colin Dales from Richmondshire DC, supported by Vice Chair, Kim Robertshaw from Ryedale DC.

The Chief Housing Officers Group is responsible for identifying new initiatives, championing good practice, ensuring that accurate performance and monitoring information is reported to the Board responding to any new challenges and flagging delivery issues as they arise. They also play a key role in liaising with other disciplines both within their own local authorities and through other sub-regional groups.

The Chief Housing Officers Group is further supported by specialist technical groups - the Homelessness Group, the Private Sector Housing Group, the North Yorkshire Rural Housing Enabler Network, the Supporting People Commissioning Body and the Gypsy, Roma, Traveller & Showpeople Group, who each have responsibility for driving forward related priorities in the Housing Strategy. The York, North Yorkshire & East Riding Housing Forum

The York, North Yorkshire & East Riding Housing Forum comprises Council Members and officers from a wide range of housing and support providers within the Sub-Region. It acts as a sounding board for the Board to consult on key policy documents and initiatives as well as a vehicle for promoting and sharing good practice and innovation through presentations and themed discussions, led by both internal and external partners. Its views and ideas are fed back to the Board.
