York, North Yorkshire & East Riding Chief Housing Officers Group and Technical Groups

The York, North Yorkshire & East Riding Chief Housing Officers Group offers technical support and advice to the Board. The group comprises of housing officers from the local authorities, plus representatives from North Yorkshire County Council, National Parks, Homes and Communities Agency and key local housing associations. The Chair is Colin Dales from Richmondshire DC, supported by Vice Chair, Kim Robertshaw from Ryedale DC.

The Chief Housing Officers Group is responsible for identifying new initiatives, championing good practice, ensuring that accurate performance and monitoring information is reported to the Board responding to any new challenges and flagging delivery issues as they arise. They also play a key role in liaising with other disciplines both within their own local authorities and through other sub-regional groups.

The Chief Housing Officers Group is further supported by specialist technical groups - the Homelessness Group, the Private Sector Housing Group, the North Yorkshire Rural Housing Enabler Network, the Supporting People Commissioning Body and the Gypsy, Roma, Traveller & Showpeople Group, who each have responsibility for driving forward related priorities in the Housing Strategy. There is a Chief Housing Officer representative on each of these groups. More information regarding these groups available on the link pages.

The York, North Yorkshire & East Riding Housing Forum

The York, North Yorkshire & East Riding Housing Forum comprises Council Members and officers from a wide range of housing and support providers within the Sub-Region. It acts as a sounding board for the Board to consult on key policy documents and initiatives as well as a vehicle for promoting and sharing good practice and innovation through presentations and themed discussions, led by both internal and external partners. Its views and ideas are fed back to the Board.

Should you wish to attend our quarterly Forum meetings or join our e-mail list please contact sarah.hall@hambleton.gov.uk. We are also keen to hear from partnering organisations who would like to use our Forum as an arena for promoting and sharing their new ideas with other stakeholders.
