We are looking for a Rural Housing Enabler, based in the Richmondshire District, to join the existing Rural Housing Enabler Team that works on behalf of the York, North Yorkshire & East Riding Strategic Housing Partnership. Associations?

The team works to identify, develop and progress affordable housing opportunities in rural areas across North and East Yorkshire. In 2020/21 we helped deliver over 300 much needed rural affordable homes and are on track to deliver a similar number this year. The RHEs work closely with parish councils, rural communities and partners (including Registered Providers and Homes England) and assist housing and planning officers with enquiries relating to rural housing provision and the development of rural affordable housing policy. The team report to the Rural Housing Enabler Network and the Housing Board for York, North Yorkshire and East Riding.

Due to the retirement of the previous post holder, a part time vacancy (18.5 hours per week) has arisen, covering the Richmondshire District. The posts is based in the District Council’s office in Richmond. The post offers flexible part-time working, including working from home for part of the week.

This opportunity would be of interest to those with experience in housing, planning or community development. It is an ideal secondment opportunity for someone seeking experience in rural affordable housing.
