The York, North Yorkshire & East Riding Strategic Housing Partnership

The Housing Partnership's roles include identifying and responding to key housing issues, agreeing and delivering strategic investment priorities, undertaking sub regional research and encouraging innovative working. It aims to increase the supply of high quality market and affordable homes, make better use of existing stock and facilitate accessible housing services and choice.Established in 2007, the York, North Yorkshire & East Riding Strategic Housing Partnership brings together the local authorities of York, North Yorkshire and East Riding. North Yorkshire includes Craven, Hambleton, Harrogate, Richmondshire, Ryedale, Scarborough, Selby Councils and North Yorkshire County Council, with the North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales National Park Authorities. We work closely to deliver our housing priorities through our joint housing strategy. These Authorities form the York, North Yorkshire and East Riding Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) area.

The work of the partnership is led by the Local Government York, North Yorkshire & East Riding Housing Board - elected members from the partner authorities, representatives of house builders and Housing Associations, each with a voting right, with senior officers from Homes England and the Heath & Well Being Boards

York, North Yorkshire & East Riding Joint Housing Investment Plan

The Joint Housing Investment Plan for York, North Yorkshire & East Riding aims to set out the key ambitions from our Housing Strategy and our investment asks of Homes England and Government are to deliver these.

The document was developed following a challenge from Nick Walkley, Chief Executive of Homes England, for the area to better articulate our investment needs, aligned with their programmes and priorities and it is supported by the Strategic Housing Partnership, Directors of Development and the Local Enterprise partnership for York, North Yorkshire & East Riding.
